Configuring Impersonation


In order to activate individual user backups your Admin account must have Impersonation and be a member of the Management Group.

This is done as follows:  At your Office 365 dashboard click on the “Admin” menu and then click on the “Exchange” menu item.

  1. Go to “permissions” and double click on “Discovery Management…”
  2. Add the “ApplicationImpersonation” Role to this roles group.
  3. Go to “permissions” and double click on ” Organization Management…”
  4. Add the “ApplicationImpersonation” Role to this roles group.

Note: If you use multi-factor authentication with Office 365, you will need to create an App password through the Office 365 portal and use it to authenticate your CloudAlly backups.

2. Click on the “Exchange” menu item.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

3. Click on “permissions” and double click on “Discovery Management…”.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

4. Add the “ApplicationImpersonation” Role to this roles group and click on “Save”.

 

 

 

 

5. Click on “permissions” and double click on ” Organization Management …”

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

6. Add the “ApplicationImpersonation” Role to this roles group.
