In the seventh part of our Backup for Microsoft 365 series, we take a look at the solutions from CloudAlly, Datto and Druva, all capable of backing up everything in the Microsoft cloud. For the most part, other data can also be backed up with it. We give an overview.

Cloud solutions for backing up data in Microsoft 365 can in many cases also back up other data. In addition to the usual cloud storage, it is possible to back up data from Salesforce or Google Workspace with tools such as CloudAlly Microsoft 365 Backup

CloudAlly Microsoft 365 Backup – universal backup solution for various cloud services

CloudAlly Microsoft 365 Backup is a cloud-based backup solution for Microsoft 365. The environment is also suitable for very large amounts of data. The service allows manual backups to be created, but of course the data can also be saved automatically. In addition to Exchange Online, SharePoint Online and Teams, the solution also backs up metadata and Microsoft 365 Groups data.

The data can be restored not only in Microsoft 365, but also in Amazon S3 , Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Customer service is available 24×7. The solution offers OAuth and MFA/2FA support. In terms of data security, the solution offers ISO 27001, HIPAA and GDPR/ GDPR certification. The backup can store data in different data centers worldwide. CloudAlly Microsoft 365 Backup enables immutable storage. Object-Lock minimizes accidental or malicious loss of data.

The solution is very easy to use. An easy-to-use dashboard is used to manage the backup. All data can be selected without any problems. Management of the environment can be delegated. Additional users can be created and rights assigned in the dashboard via “Settings”.

New backups can be created via “Add Backups”. You can then select for each area from Microsoft 365 which data should be backed up and which authentication the backup solution should use to log on. In addition to Microsoft 365, other cloud data can also be backed up via the backup job, for example Google Workspace, box, Salesforce and others. The backup solution supports different authentications for the different services. 

This means that different data can also be backed up within Microsoft 365 with different users within the interface.
